The Institutional Review Board (IRB) oversees the rights and welfare of Human Subjects in research. All research in any way associated with Lyndon State College and which utilizes Human Subjects must be reported to and approved by the IRB prior to initiation.
By definition of Federal Law (45CFR46) , research with human subjects is:
"any systematic investigation which obtains information from living individuals and which is designed to develop or contribute to generalized knowledge".
By Lyndon State College policy, the IRB has the authority to:
"approve, modify, or disapprove all research activities" involving human subjects.
