Animation & Illustration, B.F.A

Animation is used more and more in film, advertising, and video. As a result, many opportunities are opening up in the field of animation and illustration. Lyndon provides a friendly, competitive atmosphere in which to learn the skills necessary to succeed in this field.

We focus on the basic skills of drawing and narrative story telling whether static or moving.  In this program you will:

  • Develop strong drawing, animation, and story telling skills in a studio environment, using state-of-the-art software
  • Be trained to work in the animation field doing back end design, such as story boarding and character design, or actual animation
  • Learn narrative story possibilities that can translate into becoming a cartoonist or illustrator of graphic novels or children’s books
  • Be prepared to enter the animation field at an entry-level position or enter the freelance world as an illustrator
  • Be prepared to further your study of animation or illustration at a graduate level
